May 8, 2016 marks the birth centenary of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayanandaji. A visionary that He was, He came down from the Himalayas to spread and share with us the sweet nectar of our scriptures. As a part of the year long celebrations that started off this May 8th (2015), we are again taking Him to the people, more so- His message.
A Walkathon from Veer Savarkar Rashtriya Smarak, Shivaji Park to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Road, Chowpatty saw around 250 people participate on the cool Sunday morning of 27th Dec. It was part of the Chinmaya Jyoti Yatra celebration in Mumbai. It was an inspiring and invigorating journey of 10 kilometers with children displaying the Malkhamb and 9 famous dances from different states of India and that too both being performed on floats. Enroute we paid our homage to 8 national leaders who had inspired an entire generation for our freedom. We took blessings of 3 temples - Siddhivinayak, Mahalaxmi and Babulnath on the way with Gurudev’s Padukas. The participants walked on, inspired towards an empowered India and to the collective grand vision for a Transformed Nation!
