On 8th May 2019, the 103rd Chinmaya Jayanti was celebrated at Smt. Vibha Mittal’s
residence by her Wednesday Devi group at Pedder road. They began by chanting Guru
Stotram, Guru Paduka Stotram, Pratah Smararnam, Kritagyata and Ashtottara shat namavali
of Pujya Gurudev. The importance of need of a guru was discussed. The session ended with
birthday song, members cut a cake and did Chinmaya Arti.

The Study group of Chinmaya Sagar led by Smt. Trupti Vyas celebrated Chinmaya Jayanti on the 8th of May at Smt. Neelam Mani's house in Colaba. Smt. Vinita Asrani ji gave a talk on Guru Mahima by very beautifully weaving her personal experiences with Gurudev. It was truly a blissful experience to hear her talk about Gurudev’s love, compassion, devotion and light heartedness besides his vast vedantic knowledge. The satsang began with Guru Stotram, and ended with Guru Bhajans and Gurudev' s aarti followed by lunch as Prasad.

On 7th May a Guru Smaran Saptah was held at Smt. Bina Kejriwal's house. Dr. Abha Shroff was invited to speak on the Bhagwad Geeta and inspire the study group members to take up the spiritual studies on a regular basis.

On 6th May Smt. Sheelaji Chitnis’s Monday class performed Paduka Pooja at Smt. Sandhya Oberoi’s house. After the Pooja Sheelaji shared some letters written to her by Gurudev. We had the opportunity to actually hold the letters and feel them. It was a riveting time with soulful bhajans and reminiscences of Gurudev.

On 6th May, Smt. Anjali Dalal’s class celebrated Guru Smaran Saptah with a video viewing of Pujya Gurudev’s talk on the Symbolism of the Ramayan. The session ended with a lot of discussion on the videos and how the sadhanas can be applied in daily life.

It was a memorable day which began with chanting the Gurudev Pratah Smaran Stotram, Kritagyata, Gurunamamrit Stotra, Guru Paduka Stotram as well as the 108 names of Gurudev. As we chanted in unison, our hearts overflowed with gratitude, love and respect for Pujya Gurudev.

Dr. Sujata Kelkar spoke to the class on Guru, the importance of a Guru in our life, about Gurudev and his continuous blessings and teachings to all of us. She gave real life examples which the members could relate to. The talk ended with Gurudev's Arati.

The speaker for the day, Vinita ji, took the class through some reminisces of Gurudev, while highlighting the changes HIS devotees experienced due to the grace, presence and influence of our SADGURU. An extremely poignant and interactive session and befitting tribute to the GURUDEV ahead of his 103rd birth Jayanti.

On 1st May a satsang was held at Smt. Kishori David’s house in the memory of her husband. Varsha Dalal spoke on Mrityorma Amritam. Everyone was engrossed and enjoyed the talk which lasted for nearly two hours. 2 people were interested to join classes. It was very well attended. There were about 45 people. Dinner was served thereafter.

The attendees chanted 6 chapters of the Bhagavad Geeta, consecutively at each satsang. The chanting led by Smt. Vibha Mittal, was for the sadgati for the departed soul.

On the occasion of Shree Hanuman Jayanti on Friday,19 April,'19, 150 devotees participated in Puja and chanting of Shree Hanuman Chalisa from 8 am. to 6pm. New comers were enchanted and looking forward to attend upcoming Festival Celebrations at Chinmaya Sagar. For us it is not a mere event to accomplish but an opportunity to learn and live every minute with Yagna bhavana - team spirit; to make an effort to reverberate every heart with HIS name.
