Basant Panchami was celebrated by Bala Vihar students at Mahima Centre. They were taught the significance of the festival. Parents, too, participated in games that were judged by grandparents. The celebration concluded with aarati and distribution of prasad.

Shlokas are the root of Hindu culture. Twelve Bala Vihar children from Mahima zone, 7 to 12 years old, participated in the chanting of shlokas – Guru Ashtakam, Lingaashtakam and Meenakshi Pancharatnam. They were from the classes of Mangalaji, Vijayaji and Jayashriji.

Geeta Jayanti Celebration Bala Vihar - Junior Group
Children came in colourful traditional dresses. After invocation prayers, sevika Vijaya narrated the story of Pandavas and Kauravas and the Kurukshetra war. She explained the values in the Geeta, such as working together in yagna spirit for the good of all, duties of children, accepting the results as prasad just like we accept sweets, flower or water with bhakti, importance of focus and concentration for success .with this background they could relate the Gita slokas they were learning & chanting
