Study Group at Bunt Sangha celebrated Guru Purnima under the guidance of sevika Mangalaji. The program began with chanting of regular prayers, followed by Guru Stotram and Tapovan Shatakam.

Guru Purnima Celebrations Study Group Chinmaya Varashree, Matunga
Guru Purnima was celebrated with great devotion by about 25 devotees. Puja began with invocation, chanting of Guru Stotram and Tapovan Shatakam. Paduka Puja was performed by Smt. Vidya Harikrishna. Guru Paduka stotram, songs and bhajans were sung by devotees.

Junior Bala Vihar children (attending class at Chinmaya Varashree, Matunga) visited Chinmaya Pradeep at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, Powai to experience the Hindu Culture Cruise. Sevika Vijayalakshmi, along with Jayashree guided the children through the Cruise, singing bhajans and participating in the Cruise activities.

Workshop on Face it or Fear it at Chinmaya Varashree
Yuvaveer Prashanti conducted a workshop on ‘Face it or Fear it’ for 30 children aged 12 to 15 years. Sevikas Archana Natraj, Manjiri Lavakare and Nisha Parekh helped co-ordinate the session. The session started with the kids sharing what they feared.

All came prepared to speak on which character from Ramayana they identified with the most and why. All children and parents did likita japa of Sri Rama’s name. This was offered as a garland to the Lord, at South Indian Bhajana Samaj, Matunga.

The Mahima zone Shishuvihar team celebrated Shivaratri at Little Heart nursery in Matunga. The children were taught the symbols of Shiva, followed by Bhajans, and the Abhisheka on the Shivalinga. They also played the action game on the symbols of Shiva.

Rajasthani Mahila Mandal runs an NGO called Nandan to empower the lives of slum kids. Since the last four years, Bala Vihar Sevikas from Chinmaya Mission South Mumbai have been imparting the knowledge of Indian culture and traditions to these children. During the academic year 2018-19, the children were taught stories from Bhagawatam (Dashavataar).

Shivaratri celebration at Chinmaya Varashree by Shishuvihar team
The Mahima zone Shishuvuhar team celebrated Maha Shivaratri on 1st March 2019 at Chinmaya Varashree. The event was attended by 12 toddler and their mothers. The children were welcomed with clicking the pictures at the photo booth with the background of Mount Kailash.
