About the Chinmaya Mission

Chinmaya Mission was established in India in 1953 by devotees of the world-renowned Vedanta teacher, His Holiness Swami Chinmayananda. Guided by his vision, devotees all around the world formed the nucleus of a spiritual renaissance movement that now encompasses a wide range of spiritual, educational, and charitable activities, ennobling the lives of thousands in India and across its borders. Presently, headed by His Holiness Swami Swaroopananda, the Mission has continued mushrooming across the globe and stands today with over 300 centres worldwide.

Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayanandaji, stands tall as one of the most influential Vedantic philosophers of modern times. With his engaging, profound and insightful discourses he touched the minds and hearts of millions. He transformed all by inspiring them to live a life of values and become positive contributors to society. Chinmaya Mission, through its various spiritual, educational, social service and research activities and projects continues to spread this life transforming teachings of Vedanta.

 

About the Geeta Chanting Competition

Bhagawad Geeta is not just a sacred scripture, but is the practical guide to “Art of Man-Making & Science of Life”. Innumerable successful personalities, down the centuries, have derived inspiration from it.

Inspired and initiated by Param Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayanandaji, the Chinmaya Mission has been organising the Geeta Chanting Competition throughout the world, under the guidance of Pujya Swami Swaroopanandaji.

This competition is just to introduce students to this great cultural heritage of our nation, which in due course, as they grow up to become responsible citizens, will inspire them to understand philosophy of Universal Brotherhood through this Song-Divine.
