By the Grace of God & Pujya Gurudev's blessings Narayana Zone has successfully completed this year's Geeta Chanting Competition. The competition was conducted online on Zoom.
1206 students across more than 30 schools and 185 adults registered for the competition.
The first round of competition for school students was conducted over a period of 2 weeks from 26th November to 7th December. The first round for adults was conducted on 13th December.
A total of 847 students and 124 adults participated in the online competition.
The area final of 227 participants across all groups was conducted on 19th & 20th December.
During these two weeks a dedicated control room was set up in Saraswati Vidyalaya Chembur, to oversee the online setup of competition, which was efficiently managed by the school teachers.
The preparations for the competition began in mid-August with more than 70 Sevaks who put in a lot of effort for the past 5 months.
Some of the ideas which helped get such a high participation in spite of the pandemic, included:
· Publicity campaign during Aug & Sep to get adult registrations.
· Registration team did online registrations of interested people.
· Assignment of teacher/mentor to each registered participant to provide assistance in preparing for the competition.
· Use of WhatsApp broadcast groups to provide competition related information to all participants
