Sevika Manju Malkani and her Worli study group of 10 students, commemorated Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda ji’s 104th Birth anniversary, on Tuesday, May 5th.
The morning commenced with the chanting of the Guru Stotram, followed by an informative and enlightening discussion on some of the names of Gurudev. Hearing about the inspiring and lofty vision of Gurudev, His unending love and compassion for all seekers, His tireless yet detached efforts to spread the Vedanta knowledge through the Gyan Yagnas, His quest for perfection which He applied on himself before all others and which created a galaxy of committed learned teachers, left all with a deep sense of wonder and gratitude.
This was followed by a viewing of Gurudev’s videos which were as humorous as they were enlightening, and then all jointly chanted the most melodious Sri Chinmaya Ashtottara Namavali, put together by Swami Tejomayananda and Swami Shantananda.
The study class concluded with the bhajan “Om Mangalam, Omkaar Mangalam, Guru Mangalam, Guru Paad Mangalam,” as an offering at the feet of His Holiness.
With heartfelt gratitude to Gurudev and the Chinmaya Mission,
Unto Him Our Best.
