In a tribute to Pujya Gurudev on his Jayanti this year, Smt. Vinita ji Asrani’s, Cuffe Parade online class, began with a chanting of the Ashtotra Naamavali followed by a presentation on names selected by class members.
Jyoti Kapoor, Usha Bandhari, Lata Gurnani, Vinita ji, the fortunate few who had met Gurudev in person, then recounted their unique experiences with Him. The members listened with amazement as Jyoti Kapoor narrated, that as naive 16 year old, she and her 19 friends (who studied in an Orthodox Christian school), were secretly introduced to Gurudev, by a teacher who was a devotee. This bunch, of impressionable minds, met after more than 50 years, as mature women settled in different parts of the globe. The only similarity being that all twenty were still with Chinmaya Mission, some even heading their respective centres worldwide!!! Such was the magic of Gurudev!
It just took one warm embrace from Gurudev to salvage the broken Lata Gurnani from the dark patch she was going through in her personal life. Om Karuna Sagaraya Namah.
