The Study Groups of Chinmaya Mission, South Mumbai had organized a two-day movie workshop on the movie, “The Matrix” on 29th and 30th April over Zoom by Sw. Swatmananda ji. 371 interested seekers attended the workshop.
On both days, Swami ji very ably conducted the sessions in an extremely interesting format.
For the majority of viewers, a science fiction, thriller film was certainly seen with a very different and deep perspective with a lot of learning for their spiritual journey.
Neo, Morpheus, Trinity and the Agents were the characters who played the roles of a Seeker, the Guru, co-seeker and the negative forces of the Samsara.
After an initial introduction to the film by Swami ji, the film was shown with breaks at the most interesting points in the movie, where Swami ji drew parallels shown in the film to several Vedanta concepts for our reflection; the seeker's quest to learn the Truth, the Guru and an ideal student’s qualities, the Guru’s teachings, student’s learning and the enormous challenges, the Guru’s and Student’s journey together and their relationship.
The session ended with a Q&A wherein, Swami ji, in his inimitable, simplistic yet effective style answered questions from the members.
