On this auspicious day, all 18 chapters of Srimad Bhagavad Geeta were chanted in the presence of Swami Swatmananda, at the Binani residence, by a team of devotees. The event was held from 4 to 9 pm, followed by dinner prasad. Over a hundred people attended the event and different yajmans took part in the havan. Prior to Gita havan, Tapovan Jayanti was celebrated by chanting His 108 names, followed by His aarti. Before commencing the havan, Swamiji along with the mukhya yajman, invoked Mother Geeta and performed the puja. All present followed and joined in the chanting with aahuti given after each verse. At the end of each chapter, Geeta stanza 18.66 was chanted – meaning ‘Abandoning even all Dharma, surrender unto Me alone; I shall redeem you from all sins. Grieve not.’ The air reverberated with the chanting.
Swamiji has just concluded the complete Bhagawad Geeta course at Chinmaya Prakash. This was indeed a great opportunity for all students who had attended the course to chant and be a part of Sampoorna Geeta Parayanam. It was a beautiful, well conducted and well attended event. With Pujya Gurudev’s grace, it was conducted in true yagna spirit; served by several volunteers, sevaks and sevikas.
