Swamini Supriyananda, Chinmaya Mission, Hongkong spoke on the topic ‘Why Me’ at Gujarati Seva Mandal, Matunga. The programme was attended by around 125 enthusiastic participants. Swamini, in her very special, endearing manner, explained how the source of all our problems is Ignorance. Every thought and every action performed, knowingly or unknowingly, will give result. The law of Karma governs the universe and ignorance of that law is not acceptable. When the result of Karma is unfavourable, we ask ‘Why Me’. Vedanta helps us remove ignorance and live in awareness. We are put in challenging situations for our own good. It helps us develop forbearance, titiksha. Most often, we are unaware of what we ask for and where it can lead us. When we find the situation difficult to handle, we ask ‘Why Me’. Knowledge is within us. The ‘Completeness’ we seek is also within us; that is, the solution. The Lord loves us and gives us opportunities to blossom. Supriyanandaji’s style of speaking was simple, yet profound and filled every heart with a thirst to know more. The talk concluded with a Q & A session and distribution of prasad.
