On 9th June, 2019 Swami Swaroopananda ji addressed a gathering of all the members of the Zonal committees of Mumbai:
The members were very inspired after attending the meeting. It’s time to plan for the 75th year celebrations of both, Indian Independence and CM – for example can we find newer ways to approach schools? Bhakti zone said it is approaching schools for larger Balavihar outreach wherein a class will benefit vis a vis a smaller number in a regular Balavihar class.
There was a suggestion that since classical music is a stress reliever, we could think of projects to relate this to vedantic studies.
It was suggested that more ways be found to develop sessions with some immediate benefits for children (e.g. performance in studies, less stress) to better engage with them and their parents in the long-term.
Chinmaya Prerana is inviting 50 school principals for an upcoming program, and even if 10 attend it would be worthwhile.
Towards this end, brain storming should be done in each Zonal meeting and revert to the EC with ideas.
Another takeaway from the meeting was, what we can do to increase grassroot activities and if we can have measurable goals for the same. Chinmaya Prerana zone felt that since they have measurable goals, disciplining and streamlining has started to improve.
