After Invocatory prayers, the sevika, Smt. Mangala Panchapakesan spoke on the life of Adi Sankara. Through PPT and story-telling, she captured the imagination of her audience. Kanakadhara stotram, Ganga stotram, Totakashtakam and Bhaja Govindam were chanted. She spoke about Sankara’s journey to Kashi and his encounter with the Lord himself, disguised as a Chandala. This opened new pathways of knowledge for Sankara, to delve deeper into Vedanta and to compose Maneesha Panchakam. The text highlights the fact that a Guru can be in any form; Knowledge being the only consideration. The celebration concluded with closing prayers.
