On 21st April, Senior Bala Vihar children, parents and sevikas of Mahima zone, Matunga centre traveled in an open double-decker bus, exploring South Mumbai. The aim was to educate the children about their city, alongwith the Chinmaya family. Everyone got to know more about Amchi Mumbai and the goddess who gloriously rules the city. Traveling as Chinmaya family, the group together learnt about the many facets of the city – the seven islands, the historic playgrounds, heritage buildings, architectural styles, Marine Drive, Mumbai University, Rajabai Tower, the 16 Mahajanapadas, Metro the oldest theatre, the story behind the old and new Taj Hotel and much more. It was a fun-filled, informative exposure that benefitted not only the children but also the accompanying adults.
