While technology has made our life easier and simpler in various aspects, parenting a child who has learned to swipe a screen before he or she can hold a crayon does raise unique dilemmas and challenges for parents. During the Geeta-chanting Competition, conducted at Prerana, a workshop on 21st Century Parenting was organized, to specially address the concerns and challenges in bringing up today’s children, conducted by Shri Vidhu Sharma. There was a robust gathering of 700 parents over two days. The parents had good interaction with Vidhuji, who provided great insight and practical tips for various issues faced by parents in the digital age. Animated discussion and engaging activities helped bring home the point that parents need to know themselves better, to understand and respond differently and appropriately to the needs of today’s children. The workshop was well received and appreciated by parents, who showed interest for a workshop on tips to handle teenaged children.
