Tapovan Jayanthi and Gita Jayanthi were celebrated at Bunts Sangha premises, Chunabhatti under the committed guidance of sevika, Mrs. Mangala Panchapakesan. The event began with chanting of Om and invocation prayers. Mangalaji spoke about the greatness of Tapovan Maharaj, shiksha guru of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda. Short snippets of his life marked the celebration of Tapovan Maharaj Jayanthi. Tapovan Shatkam, Gita Dhyana slokas, Gita Chapter 1 were chanted to invoke the presence and grace of all great masters on this auspicious occasion. Power packed, fun filled event by our revered sevika was Gita Quiz. She split us into three groups namely Gargi, Karthyayini and Maitreyi. The quiz ranged from simple questions to chanting verses by heart from Chapter 2 and meaning of some landmark verses. Though it took us time to think and answer, we however joyously participated and enjoyed being part of this celebration. Team Maitreyi was leading with 36 points, followed by Karthyayini with 29 points and Gargi with 11 points. We were given prize book named ‘In Indian culture, Why do we’. We concluded the event with closing prayers and prasad distribution. It was a memorable event with a valuable treasure of knowledge to be carried home.
