Geeta Chanting competition was held at SIES (Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Memorial) High School, Ghatkopar West as well as at Kanyashala Gujarati school in Ghatkopar. At this school most of the children are from those families whose income is below poverty line and they don't have any facilities to lead a decent life. But this school provides them education, food and uniforms. Gita chanting preliminary round was held here. We were amazed by the way the kids were chanting. The credit for this goes to Shri. Someshwar and their teacher Smt. Ranjan who trained them.
Geeta chanting competition, Miscellaneous Round, was held for students right from Nursery to Std X at Area no.10 (Chembur) in the morning, and at Area No. 11 (Ghatkopar) afternoon. Miscellaneous Round means, the schools which do not entertain GEETA chanting competition, but parents are interested that their children learn Geeta. Especially the Balavihar children. Such children are brought together and competitions are held every year.
Smt. Indira Someshwar, Smt. Sunita Ramkumar and Smt. Ujjwala Sethna addressed the parents and introduced Chinmaya Mission and also stressed the importance of Geeta.
