Bala Vihar Sevikas helped conduct Matru Puja at various locations. Matru-Pitru Puja was conducted by Bala Vihar children and parents at Saraswati Vidyalaya, Chembur on 14th October. There were about 120-130 participants. The children had made wall-hanging pouches with Devi motif for their parents. Devi pictures were colored and decorated by around fifty children, under the able guidance of Shyamala Acharya. The creative efforts of Shilpa, Bala Vihar sevika turned colored pictures into frames. Prasad was arranged by a group of parents. The event was like a family function, bringing Mission members closer to each other.
Matru Puja was conducted at Modern English School, Chheda Nagar, under the guidance of Sailataji. She explained the importance of performing Matru Puja. Parents and children were bubbling with enthusiasm throughout the event, which concluded with Devi aarti and prasad. Matru Puja was conducted at Kohinoor City, Kurla, guided by Aruna, Bala Vihar sevika. There were around sixty children and parents. The puja was followed by chanting of Lalita Sahasranamam and Sharada Bhujangam.
