On 8th September, Bala Vihar children made Ganesha idols from clay, graciously bought by the hostess, Smt. Sangita Gurwani. They took the idols home to paint and decorate them. On 15th September, they brought their Ganesha idols to class. Sevika Pratibha Shah explained the significance of the creation and visarjan of Ganpati. She explained the importance of the puja, in the five elements and five sense organs are used. The story of offering durva at the feet of Ganpati was told. This was followed by beautiful Ganesha bhajans, archana and chanting of 16 names of Ganesha. Visarjan was performed in a tub of water. The children enjoyed the festival very much.
