Shri Ramnavami celebrations 6th Apr, 2025
It is with great fortune and blessings of Pujya Gurudev that Chinmaya Jayam Zone conducted a Beautiful Rama Navami Utsav
Śiva becomes complete with Śakti, Puruśa with Prakṛti and Rāmā with Sitā This union is symbolic of the Jīva becoming one with Brahman. For these and other reasons, Ramnavami is celebrated in South India as Sitā Kalyāṇam, the marriage of Bhagavān Rāmā with Bhagavati Sitā.
Chinmaya Jayam celebrated this tradition on April 6, 2025. More than 90 people, dressed in wedding finery attended and 25 Yajmans got a blessed chance to contribute.
Rāmā Janma was celebrated with sevikas gently rocking the cradle with the Divine Child and singing the Rāmajanmavarṇana of Goswami Tulasidas.
Mukhya Yajmans carried the beautiful idols of Rāmā and Sitā under a silken canopy, singing the Thyagaraja Kirtan and traditional music from nadaswaram and mridangam.
Singing bhajans & songs Varmala yajmans offered beautiful garlands to Ramji & Sitaji ; the Vastra Yajmans covered Rāmā and Sitā in rich raiments, knotting the Lord’s angavastram with the pallav of the Lady’s sari. The highlight was the tying of the maṅgala sutra, sponsored by the Maṅgala Sutra Yajman.
The devotees then reverently celebrated the coronation of Srī Rāmā, the Paṭṭābhiṣekam, crowning the heads of Rāmā and Sitā, acknowledging them as the Lord and Lady of the worlds and our hearts.
As part of the offerings there were two delightful dance recitals by our Geeta chanting participants , followed by a specially curated Bhajan Antakṣari in which the Bala Vihar children participated along with the audience with great enthusiasm.
Later the Yajmans were honoured and all the children received a personalised message from Ramji as a special gift.
The celebration ended with the Arati Yajmans performing the arati and everyone enjoying a special Rama Navami Prasad.
