Of all the months in the Hindu calendar, Shravan maas (month) is revered and considered the most holy month; dedicated to Mahadeva. The cosmos is filled with Shiva Tattva - elements of Shiva. Worship and invocation of the Lord in this special month brings eternal divine grace. Devotees offer special prayers every Monday, dedicated to Lord Shiva; hence, Shravan Somvars are important. Somvar celebrations were held at Juhu Jagruti Hall, Mithibai College, Vile Parle West, 6.30 – 7 pm on all Mondays from 13th August. Samuhik Japa of mantras like Om Namah Shivaya, Mahamrityunjaya mantra etc. was held on each Monday, in the presence of Swami Swatmananda. Invocation of Divinity by means of Japa is a beautiful way to connect and focus on the purest Infinite form!
