My Trek Through Uttarakhand
Our journey and learnings from Gurudev’s trek was a lot of fun and full of insights on life - through his dairy he has enabled us to walk the trek with him .
Gurudev’s grumblings too were always edged with tongue in cheek humour, but with never a trace of bitterness.
To be thankful to anyone who is guiding us on a path - our parents, Teachers, gurus and above all the Almighty and the people serving us too, be it a cook or a sweeper.
To be able to enjoy or find solace in the Silence not always run after company of noisy people, in that silence we often find answers to many questions we are seeking to contemplate on the lord to seek the highest.
Being amidst Nature and Silence one naturally becomes contemplative Faith or Shradha gives us protection from adversities of life, and Prayers give us the courage to face them - We need to keep both close to us.
The only way by which a man can know and become One with the infinite is by meditating upon that Infinite developing intuition by making the mind pure single pointed and subtle.
Being in Satsang with a great soul gives you an inner balance Gurudev says “ We forgot all existence, it was a feeling of being lost within yourself in total contemplation- It shows us the Importance of Satsang
Sitting on the banks of Ganga in Meditation enjoying inner peace Gurudev says “He came to live in himself” and for the first time tasted total bliss.
Another important message given by Sri Krishnasrama metaphorically was “Drink the real pure Gangajal” (not meaning the river water) Seek the inner “Gomukh” the source of knowledge. Develop Shradha and Love. There is no God to seek outside. No one else can make you attain it other than yourself- ‘Importance Of Self Effort’
Importance of Silence —Silence is the substratum of the tiniest of sounds, may it be a whisper of breeze or even the sound of one’s own breathing - It all takes you closer within you - listen to our inner voice
Importance of Instinct over mere Bookish Knowledge- “The instinctive prediction of the guide Jeet Singh “who forecasted rain by merely looking at the sky . It showed us the vanity of education to think there is nothing beyond college bookish knowledge.
Whatever is your Swadharma it comes to you with no effort - When Gurudev spoke of his guru, he says - “His kindness was a part of his Nature, being any other way would be an effort for him” - Our learning - Be with your Swadharma and do your duties.
What does Pain teach us ? pain takes us away from sense pleasures into the innermost layers of our personality.
Above all Gurudev has taught us to pursue our goal with determination despite all odds. He has shown us the way - We now have to walk the path. Unto Him our best.
