Highlights
The guru stotram was recited after the invocation.
1. Swamiji clearly demonstrated that he had mastered the six fold wealth in this difficult trek in Uttarakhand. His Sama and Dama were fully evident in how he handled the treacherous terrain and the bitter cold weather without shoes. Titiksha was evident never complaining instead diverting his mind to the beautiful landscapes.
2. The class spoke eloquently about the vairagya rishis living alone in caves some without clothes often going without sustenance- yet radiant and full of gyan. The advice of Shri Goswami Gangadas- TO DO GOOD WITHOUT CREATING ANY VASANAS. The essence of Vedanta.
3. Crossing the torrential Yamuna on two pine trees as a makeshift bridge was life threatening- any ordinary person would have turned back. However Gurudev was no ordinary mortal! It was his never say die attitude and utter resilience in the face of adversity that led him to build the Chinmaya mission from strength to strength globally.
