Tuesday class.
Sevikas : Pushpa Palat and Chandni Hitkari.
The class commenced with an invocation followed by Gurustotram chanting and ended with a Guru bhajan and prayer.
The participants shared their learnings from the book “My trek through Uttarakhand “
The inputs from the participants were varied and gave all a lot of food for thought.
All appreciated his humour in spite of his physical anguish and lack of comfort. The magnificent description of nature be it the mighty trees or lofty mountain peaks made one want to be one with nature as also his beautiful personification of the rivers. rive This identification with almighty s creation humbles one and invokes a spirit of surrender. Sorrow helps one to evolve and physical pain makes one dissociate from the world outside and instead to delve deep within. They also remarked on his grasp of the political situation so shortly after independence. Also how this living in the moment attitude was felt to inspiring. Gurudev’s empathy of his fellow travellers his admiration for the guide’s prediction of bad weather and earnest learnings from the mahatmas and sages he met were a lesson to all of us.
Highlights of the sessions were an original letter from Gurudev in his own hand to one of the students -Mrs Usha Nair and beautiful sketches of Gurudev by Usha Rajaram.
The session ended with another guru Bhajan sung by Sucharita Krishnan.
All were very inspired by the session and thought it was the most beautiful way to pay homage to a great saint.
