The first session of the New Year began with a presentation on the relevance of Makar Sankrati on Friday 8th January, 2021 from 5.00 - 6.30 pm. Br. Param Chaitanya from Chinmaya Vibhooti, explained in detail the different ways this festival is celebrated, how by paying obeisance to the Sun God was celebrated in North India and South India. The children listened eagerly and then did the Surya Namaskar by following Sevika Hina Choksi. The Surya Namaskar was done while chanting the names of Lord Suryanarayan.
A simple DIY kite making activity by Sevika Uma Bhat kept the children engrossed, many showing their skilful effort.
With Gurudev's blessings, this session would enable children to celebrate the festival in a more meaningful way.
