Swami Swatmananda’s Bhagwatam class was fortunate to have their class falling on the day of Guru Purnima. The class decided to celebrate with Paduka Puja, inviting all Devi Groups of Chinmaya Sagar. The altar was beautifully decorated and the program was coordinated by the class members of Smt. Vibha Mittal’s class. The session began with Bhagwatam class. The portion studied was the ladies of Hastinapur singing the glory of Jagadguru Sri Krishna. Swamiji then seamlessly wove in a talk on Guru, what we learn and how indebted we always are to the Guru. Swamiji gave a brief talk of Bhagawan Sri Veda Vyas and accounts of Swami Tapovanji Maharaj and Pujya Gurudev. This was followed by a beautiful first-person account of reminisces of Pujya Gurudev by study group member, Smt. Pushpa Palat. Smt. Vinita Asrani was the yajman for Paduka Puja that followed. The 108 names of Sri Veda Vyas and Pujya Gurudev were chanted. The celebration concluded with everyone partaking of prasad and bhiksha.
