On 18th February, Smt. Vibha held a Sundarkanda Paryana at her residence. The Prayana was led by Swni. Krishnapriyananda ji who also gave a short talk on the significance of Sundarkanda. Swamini ji began by with an invocation and went to speak about the glory of Shri Hanuman who stands apart in the Ramayana as the only one without a blemish on his character. The whole Ramayana, Swamini ji said, is considered a mantra in itself and Sundarkand is known as a Siddha Granth.
Explaining the symbolism in the Ramayana, Rama is one’s own nature – Brahman, Sita is the peace which was stolen by Ravana – our 10 senses. Hanuman is our breath as Pavan Putra. He brings Rama and Sita together.
The 3 obstacles that Hanuman faced:
- Mainaak Parvat – symbolic of the temptations faced by a sadhak from his relatives and friends while practicing sense control.
- Surasa – symbolic of how we should not get into unhealthy competition with others in our sadhana.
- Simhika – destroy jealousy as soon as it arises.
The talk was attended by members of Smt. Vibha Mittal and Smt. Anjali Dalal’s Devi group.
