Balavihar Sevikas of Chinmaya Narayan Zone got an opportunity to conduct workshops for Rushikul Gurukul English medium school at Ghatkopar, on the occasion of Janmashtami celebrations.
We were asked to conduct 3 workshops from 9.00a.m to 12.00 noon, covering around 200 children.
The first workshop was for 7-10 standard students. The theme for this workshop was ' Face what you must Face'. They learnt how Krishna had to face challenges right from his birthday, how he faced it with a cheerful mind and a smiling face. They learnt a Krishna song and made a friendship Band.
The second workshop was for the tiny tots, Pre kg to 2nd standard.. It was a delight to see these children dressed as Krishna and Gopis. We enjoyed talking to these cute Krishnas and Gopis.
We shared our video 'Krishna the blue boy of Brindavan ' and also told stories from Krishna's life. A dance performance by our Balavihar children was showcased. They learnt some peppy Krishna song.
The 3rd workshop was for students from 3rd-6th standard. We conducted a pictorial quiz, story and bhajan for this group. They learnt to make a crown and a peacock feather.
The enthusiasm and cheer that the children bring rubs on to the teachers and the volunteers.
Principal Minal Mishra participated in all the three workshops whole heatedly. She expressed her gratitude towards the noble work carried out by the Chinmaya mission.
We have requested her to enroll the school children for Bhagavad Gita chanting competition.
