Every year during Shree Krishna Janmashtami day, General Education Academy, a school in Chembur, organise Shreemad Bhagawad Geeta Chanting competition for all 18 chapters by students of their own school and from other nearby schools.
This year since there was no good response from other schools they decided to have the chanting competition by their own students. For that they requested the help of Shri P B Someshwar, who has taught all the chapters to students.
Initially there were 3 students for each chapter. After elimination round which was judged by Smt Rama Rao from Chinmaya Mission and 2 judges from school itself, 1 student was selected for each chapter. During the final on Janmashtami day Shri C S Dinesh, Smt Renuka Sasidharan and Shri Viraj Sadekar from Chinmaya Mission were judges. 18 students chanted one chapter each and out of them 3 best students were selected and school gave them prizes.
The school authorities wholeheartedly thanked Chinmaya Mission for teaching their students Geeta and also arranging judges for the competition.
