Chinmaya Jayam zone celebrated the auspicious occasion of Shree Krishna Janmashtami with an offering by Devi group of Jayam zone.
The event started with an invocation prayer by Balavihar children. Followed by an introduction of Narayaneeyam by senior Sevika Smt. Sheelaji. Narayaneeyam is a shortened version of Shrimad Bhagwatam. There are 18000 verses in Bhagwatam which have been reduced to around 1000 verses. It was composed by Shree Narayan Bhattgiri in praise of Lord Narayan of Guruvayur.
Selected chapters were chanted by different ladies describing Krishna Avtar, birth of Shree Krishna, Darshan, Kaliya Mardan, Rasleela and ending with the Vision of Lord Krishna.
It was an amazing, divine experience.
This was followed by Krishna bhajans, talk and chanting of Madhurashtkam.
There were 43 participants some of who set up an altar in their homes and offered Tulsi and flowers along with the chanting of 108 names of Lord Krishna.
The programme concluded with the Mangal Aarti composed by Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda ji.
